Graduation 2008

Journal Entry: Sat May 10, 2008, 11:50 PM
Today (or rather, yesterday) I finally graduated from college. Yay! Well, as long as I passed my classes, which I won't know until next week. *shrugs*

Now to find a place to live and a job...very quickly!

*too tired to type anymore about it*

Good night!

Life is nuts

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 6, 2008, 11:35 PM
So, in the many attempts to try to finish up school, I've been lurking, but not really doing anything here at deviantART. I apologize if I said was going to do something awhile back and didn't. I'm pretty sure that happened with a couple ppl. :)

But anyway, the constant battle I have against Stats 190 is still going. I've acquired a private tutor since my last journal entry. Much of my spare time not in class, at work, or in the print studio has been with my tutor. That's the biggest part of the reason why I suddenly disappeared off the face of the earth. :D

My university is having midterm break (or is it spring break? I forget) this next week. I plan to continue studying up on stats, but I may end up putting some stuff up here if I ever get around to drawing. :D I'll at least have some more prints from my Printmaking class up soon. Yay. :)

Since my last post, I have acquired Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice and played it through. Heh. Sweet. :)

New Year and Radiohead

Journal Entry: Tue Jan 8, 2008, 1:28 PM
Even though I have posted artwork not too long ago, I realized it had been awhile since I had updated my journal. So, here ya go. I hope everyone had some nice holiday time, and a happy new year. :)

I'm listening to Radiohead's new album, In Rainbows. So far I am very pleased with what I'm hearing. I've always been a sucker for flowing music like this. I also became a Radiohead fan over 10 years ago when I was around 13 years old, so my favorite music of theirs is from that period. My favorite album of theirs is OK Computer, but my favorite song (Street Spirit) is from The Bends album, the album they had before OK Computer.

So, even though I love all their music pretty much, you can imagine I was a little disheartened when their Kid A album was nominated for awards and received so much coverage. OK Computer had elements of electronica music, but Kid A was their most apparent departure from the rock sound they previously had and I liked. I kinda view their new album, In Rainbows, as a bit of a departure from that electronica sound and getting back to their rock sound. Yay. :)

I was pretty ticked that I couldn't get their music beforehand. The entire album could be downloaded online before its in-store release back in October. The store-bought, physical albums weren't available until the first of this month. In Rainbows could be downloaded at any price the fan wanted, which was pretty awesome. Even though I planned to buy the actual physical CD in stores, even if I did download it first, I was a little aggravated that I never got the website to work so I could listen to it earlier. Oh, well.

Well, Happy New Year, and that's the end of my Radiohead ranting. :) I hope your new year is good and that you might listen to a little Radiohead, LOL. :D

I want to get back to doing some more various, goofy fan art, for various fandoms. So, hopefully I'll do that soon. :)

I'm alive

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 21, 2007, 2:26 AM
Nothing much going on. My classes are trying to murder me. I'll have to post some of the decent stuff from my studio classes on here to show you all what I've been up to. Except for that random spurt of fanart I made during breaks while working on a paper a couple days ago, I've not been on here much (except for occasional rounds of adding new additions to my favorites gallery). It's kinda sad.

I'm going to sleep now and put the finishing touches on a paper tomorrow morning...er a little later today actually. Yay.

Current events!

Journal Entry: Tue Sep 18, 2007, 12:54 AM
Since I can't sleep at the moment, I'll briefly go over what's been happening with me since mid-July. I don't want to go into much detail, or I'll be typing forever.

I was a bridesmaid at my best friend's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding, and I think Tara looked just wonderful as a happy, crying bride. *laughs* I'm still saying congrats to Tara and Andy here in my heart. I should get back in contact with Tara again soon. It's been about a week since last time.

I just went back to working at my part-time job until school started. I still work weekends and a short shift on Mondays. Currently I'm taking 3 studio classes...yeesh! And Islamic Art History. Yeesh. Two of those classes are in the evening no less; three hours long each.

The other two classes I have are in the morning (but not too early) with one running for three hours also. Printmaking is two hours, but I almost always stay longer than the two hour classtime, b/c I have no afternoon classes and Printmaking is a lot of out of class work. So, I may as well stay longer and get things done.

So, I've been pretty worn out, and afternoon naps have not been uncommon for me. I hope my sleeping is not disrupted much more than this (though I'm still up right now...).

So far I'm doing alright in my classes. My first quiz in Islamic Art is Wednesday. I'm really worried about that and I hope to get a lot of reading and studying for it in tomorrow and the next day. Sculpture is due at the end of the month, and I have no idea when my painting is due...oops. I'll find out soon tomorrow. I've acquired some fun poison ivy b/c of scavenging I've done in the woods for the materials I needed for sculpture. Yeesh.

Well, anime club is doing well. It's the first time in 3 years I haven't been president (just shows I've been in college too long). Now I'm a mock officer, as the official "mascot" of the club. Mostly that just means I'm pretty lax about administration meetings and getting to club on Fridays. That and I put up the new schedules each week for what we're watching on our site, with pictures, silly comments (which I call my "subtitles") and descriptions.

I'm not really an officer of any kind anymore, and I'm making sure to let the new officers figure out things on their own. I mostly am there to make sure things work out, since our new president Carl is very new to a role like president of a college organization.

The silliest thing I've done lately not related to club or school is buying a Venus Fly Trap. So far I've fed 3 flies to it (heh heh). I've yet to name it. I'm not trying to think hard about it...I'll know I'll come up with a perfectly bizarre name for it suddenly and randomly.

Well, that's that. I may as well stay up a little longer to see my ebay purchase go through. G'night!
