SHERLOCK HOLMES pumpkin

Did I fan-geek or what?

I got kinda ambitious. I love Halloween. :3 And I LOVE SHERLOCK. And Benedict Cumberbatch.

I had been thinking of doing this since at least the beginning of October, but was struggling with my first Sherlock fan art then. I wish I could have made this even more elaborate, but I guess I'll try something like that next year.

This was the result of several evenings after work these past couple weeks. Lots of planning, troubleshooting, referencing photos, tacking in holes and carving. My first attempt actually didn't work.

Surprisingly, my Old Timer pocket knife worked best for carving and not any of my kitchen butcher or paring knives.

This took awhile to do, but I was fueled by Doctor Who and blackberry wine. LOL And the breaks I took looking at Sherlock fan art and reading Sherlock fan fiction. I love this fandom. Youse guys are great.

I was amused. I found this top heavy, pale and thin-rind pumpkin to use. Worked pretty damn well. Seems to fit Sherlock.

Will I carve a John Watson...?

Time's the big issue right now. But there is an untouched, firm, thick-rind dark orange pumpkin sitting in my living room right now, if I get the chance! :3
