EDIT: I'M SCRAPPING THIS! I'm finally getting the hang of some Disney styles, and a new version of this picture will be posted soon.
Princess Aurora...as Sailor Moon. Eternal Sailor Moon to be precise.
Copic marker, Prismacolor Verithin pencils and drawing pencil on printer paper.
Funny yes? LOL, ironically funny since Aurora's name is a reference to the sun, and she's Sailor Moon. Also funny, since so many evil life forms in Sailor Moon come from the Sun too.
In response to the overwhelming Disney Princess merchandising I've seen, I decided to do one of my weirdest and most ambitious spoofs and merges ever...of two big franchises. Of course, it will be in my leisure time. I may post another one soon before the holidays are over. And I won't do them all at once either; I have other things I want to draw or do artistically in my spare time also.
I've had this weird idea for awhile, and regrettably I took a lot of time drawing Aurora some time before Christmas (about mid December). That's because Aurora from Sleeping Beauty is freakin' hard to draw! She still doesn't look quite right, but I refuse to draw her again unless I just get disgusted with this enough over time.
And yes, I plan to dress up and draw other Disney Princesses as the other 9 main Sailor Senshi from Sailor Moon. The Sailor outfits only seen in the manga too, the Sailor Star uniforms that are the equivalent to Eternal Sailor Moon's look. I know the very first outfits are the most recognizable and the Super forms are the next most recognizable (since they're so close to the original), but I wanted to draw the Sailor Star uniforms.
And yes, I picked which Disney Princesses who will be who already. Don't suggest or ask...it will be revealed in time. Aurora is from one of my favorite Disney movies, and although her personality is not really like Sailor Moon (except when she DOES act elegant as Princess/Queen Serenity), she is a Disney Princess I like pretty well, and she seems to be a natural choice in appearance to be Sailor Moon, since they both have unique hair renderings.
It's a personal irony to me, since I was once doing an RPG where I was playing a princess named Aurora that was supposed to be Sailor Moon, reincarnated as an alien mouse-princess in a war-torn, demon-infested land.
Anyway, this is very nice. Disney's Aurora really suits the part of a Disney-fied version of Eternal Sailor Moon. Love the hair!

I like their Sailor Star outfits, too. One of my favorite pictures from the manga is the one of all the sailor scouts in their sailor star form.
Also good job, and nice concept.
