Here is the color version of the Black Jack line-art I made a little awhile ago. I won't say I really like this too much, but it works. It's a Copic marker/color pencil experiment for me, to be honest.
EDIT: The coloring is based more off the manga, as was the drawing, rather than any of the anime. That's why he has a blue ribbon instead of red; most renditions of Black Jack in animation has him with a red ribbon. He also had different warm-colored flesh on his face in the anime versions, but in the manga, his skin was rather bluish in some illustrations. My guess he was colored like that to show how it's not his natural skin and the fact he may have some health problems even now.
I'll type more about here later. Right now I want to concentrate on my printmaking ideas and go to bed. Yay.
EDIT: So, this was a lot of application of solid Copic, and then some regular color pencil, but a bunch of watercolor pencil. I then reapplied more Copic, and the moisture from the markers made the watercolor pencil liquefy. It made for some interesting mixes and warps in the coloring.
I also played with this line-art in Photoshop, coloring it with the program. I never finished, and I don't know if I will, since it is very time consuming to color a picture in Photoshop with just brushes and a mouse. Yay. And I'm not good at it too, lol.
So this is my next entry for the contest at I suppose. Better let them know.
Now, back to my playing around, stats and figuring out the stupid university portfolio due tomorrow....
What happened to his face? I've wanted to know that ever since I bought the Black Jack movie.
